Who We Are

Naples Friend of Animals was founded on the belief that stray animals are to be treated with the same love and respect as other living beings. For this reason, our group was formed to help the overpopulation of homeless pets in the Naples, Italy area.

** NFOA is a non-profit, 100% volunteer organization whose primary goal is spaying and neutering the abandoned stray population in the Naples, Italy Area. **

  • NFOA's "Spay A Stray" program will cover 100% of costs to spay or neuter stray dogs and cats found by Security within the Support Site, Capo and JFC military bases when funds allow. For more information about who we are and what we do to help the military community, see our FAQ page.
  • Please note that NFOA does not have a shelter facility, and therefore cannot take in every animal in need. See our Adoptable Dogs and Adoptable Cats pages for current animals awaiting new fur-ever families!
  • We have a Pet Adoption Day once a month on the Support Site for people who have taken in stray puppies and kittens and for military families who can no longer keep their pets. Check Events for date and time.
    • If you are interested in attending an Adoption Day to place a pet, please note: We are limited on the number of dogs and cats that we can have at each of our Adoption Days by Base Security. Space is limited to only 15 dogs and 20 cats. For this reason, bringing a pet to an adoption event is by invitation only! If you show up with a pet uninvited, you will be asked to leave.
    • If you are interested in attending to place a pet, please e-mail us at nfoa.president@gmail.com. There is often a waiting list and we fill openings in order of inquiries. NFOA foster homes are given 1st priority, strays found by others 2nd, and people re-homing pets are last.
    • For the safety of our foster pets and yours, every pet that attends an adoption event must be de-wormed and vaccinated. To keep up with our mission of reducing the homeless pet population, all pets over 4 months old MUST be spayed or neutered before attending an adoption event, as this is the only way that we can guarantee that they will never add to the homeless pet population here in Naples.
  • If you are interested in helping the strays in Naples, please see our Volunteer Page for more information! We are always in need of foster homes, help with fundraising, people willing to make vet runs, creative advertising help and more!

Thanks for all your support, and as always, thanks for helping the strays!
