Calling All Volunteers!

Volunteers make the world go 'round. This is especially true in the animal welfare industry. Millions of pets each year are waiting for their forever homes. You can help enrich their lives while they are waiting to be adopted. You can also help over-worked volunteers in need of extra hands and minds. Naples Friends of Animals is solely run by volunteers, and we are always happy to welcome new people who want to help us continue to help homeless animals in our area!

If you are interested in helping, some of our current needs are:

  • Foster homes - we are in great need of foster homes for formerly stray puppies and kittens. Some great reasons to foster for NFOA:

    1. Love and companionship.
    2. Only a temporary comittment.
    3. Financial assistance with veterinary bills.
    4. Having the luxury to sample what dog/cat best suits you and your family.
    5. Stop the kids from constantly asking for a pet.
    6. Educate yourself and your children about the responsibility of caring for a pet.
    7. The wonderful feeling of knowing you have helped to save a pet's life!

If you would like to give an animal a second chance at life, or if you are currently working with strays please contact nfoa.president@gmail.com.

  • Pet Taxi - If you have a car and would like to help transport dogs or cats to vet clinics, foster homes or owners -- please let us know! At least twice a week, we have animals that need to go to the vet.
  • Fundraising - If you would like to organize a fundraising event, we would love your help! Any and all ideas are welcome. We always need people to volunteer an hour or two of their time to help with bagging at the Nex and bake sales. See the events page for dates of these types of fundraisers.

  • Advertising - We also need help with creating and circulating flyers announcing special events -- posting them and keeping them current. Additionally, we like to put up flyers featuring current adoptable dogs and cats.

  • Donations - See our Wish List. You may have some of these items sitting around your house! NFOA has a bin in front of the commissary to collect donations. If you would like to make a monetary or specific donation to help the animals in our care, please contact NFOA Treasurer at nfoa.treasurer@gmail.com.

  • Special Positions – we are also looking for people to fill special positions, such as a Volunteer Coordinator, Foster Care Coordinator, Adoption Counselor, and Public Affairs Officer. If you have the skills to perform one of these roles and want to volunteer, please e-mail nfoa.president@gmail.com for more information.

  • Thank you in advance for your support!
